LogiMAT 2025: Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Trade Fair
During my time in Germany, I promised myself to attend the LogiMAT fair every year. The main reason was that I lived in Munich, and the fair was held in Stuttgart—just 2.5 hours away. Considering that many people from Turkey fly in and pay for hotels to attend this fair, I strongly believe and recommend that everyone working in robotics should visit LogiMAT.
In this article, I’ll first discuss the highlights of LogiMAT 2025, then share my observations on why you should attend this fair.
LogiMAT and Robotics: The Indispensability of Hall 8
When I think of LogiMAT, robotics solutions come to mind more than warehouse systems—though this might be due to my area of interest! However, I never see this intensity in other halls of the fair. Especially Hall 8 becomes an arena where many robotics companies showcase their robots and newly developed features each year. While I didn’t notice significant differences at this year’s LogiMAT compared to previous years, the newly participating startups were particularly noteworthy and exciting.
Regarding fleet management, it’s hard for me to be unbiased! Because <3 KINEXON 😄 However, like every year, many fleet management systems and software solutions were present at the fair.
Why Should You Attend LogiMAT?
If you’re a robotics developer living in Europe, this fair is a must-attend event. It’s one of the biggest events where you can directly observe your competitors, industry innovations, and trends. Seeing and analyzing real products up close gives you different perspectives.
For example, if you want to understand a robot’s movements or how it responds to obstacles, analyzing this from a video is almost impossible. However, at the fair, robots demonstrate these movements, and knowledgeable eyes can catch all these details to make a difference.
A simple example: While most companies showcase their robots in a designated demo area, some make the surrounding barriers higher. The reason is to improve localization and control environmental dynamics. So, it’s possible to observe not just the robots but also how companies think and showcase their technologies!
Direct Contact with Hardware Providers
LogiMAT is crucial not just for software but also for hardware. Although robotics developers are usually software-focused, establishing communication with hardware providers and seeing market innovations provides a great advantage. Sensors, motors, batteries, and critical components for autonomous systems are introduced here. You can see firsthand the future of new generation lidars, advanced battery technologies, and more precise motion control systems.
The Rise of Asian Companies
Each passing year, we see more Asian-based companies at European fairs. While there were almost no Chinese companies in the early 2020s, now there’s head-to-head competition in the field. However, there’s still a significant difference: European robots with solid and quality materials versus more affordable solutions from the Asian market.
Although they work well in demo areas, it’s not hard to predict what kind of problems they might create in a real warehouse environment. I think Asian companies carry a big question mark, especially regarding after-sales service support. However, it’s interesting to see these companies adapting more to the European market each year.
A Visionary Example: Jungheinrich
There’s a specific point I want to emphasize: Jungheinrich. In my opinion, this company can be an example to all firms on how to be visionary. Their strategic move of acquiring two different robotics companies in their leading field and spreading this know-how across their entire product range is remarkable. I’m sure we’ll hear their name much more frequently in the coming years.
Jungheinrich’s pricing policy is also quite different from other companies. Their robots appear to be a much more complete product compared to competitors. Additionally, being a well-known brand and providing strong service support makes them very attractive to customers. Despite not being in Hall 8, their significant attention in Hall 9 proves this.
Conclusion: LogiMAT 2025 Met Expectations!
LogiMAT was once again a productive event that met my expectations, where I made many new contacts and had the opportunity to see innovations up close. I’m already looking forward to LogiMAT 2026! Hopefully next year, we’ll see several American and Chinese companies participating with humanoid robots as well.
